Richard Ferro, President, CIREB and Heather Briccetti, President and CEO, The Business Council of New York State, Inc.

Heather Briccetti attended a meeting of the Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Brokers (CIREB), marking her first appearance as a guest speaker in her role as President and CEO of The Business Council.

CIREB is a professional trade association made of real estate brokers and salespeople (all of whom hold membership in a local REALTOR association), property managers, real estate appraisers, attorneys, developers, economic development agencies and financial institutions. Its membership covers the Capital Region and its extended Tech Valley.

During her presentation, Briccetti discussed the Governors State of the State address and The Business Councils legislative priorities for 2012. She covered a variety of issues, including the importance of public-private partnerships to spur economic development and the recent property tax cap. Briccetti also applauded Cuomos call for improving the effectiveness of the education system.

At its 2011 Installation Ceremonies, CIREB also awarded Donald E. Don is a founding father of CIREB and past-president (1972).

CIREB presents check to the American Cancer Society 9-10-09

Michelle Terry, Director of Corporate Relations for the American Cancer Society was on hand at CIREB's September marketing session to accept a check from CIREB. The $3,000.00 donation represents monies raised through the sale of raffle tickets sold at its annual golf outing. The Galesi Group hosted the July Marketing Session at 400 State Street, Schenectady. CIREB members heard from Schenectady Mayor Brian Stratton and Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority Chairman/CEO, Ray Gillen. They saw first hand the redevelopment of downtown Schenectady, New York including a tour of the new Movieland, a 6 screen movie theater at 400 State Street. The theater is owned and operated by Bow Tie Cinemas, a four generation, family owned company, dedicated to bringing style and elegance back to the movie-going experience. The concession stand doesn't look like your typical popcorn station, either! Along with the usual cinema fare, they offer pizza, hot dogs, chicken wings and mozzarella sticks and the food can be taken into the theaters.

The Galesi Group has approximately 30,000sf of class "A" office space available for lease above the theaters, 15,000sf on each floor.

Homeless and Traveler's Aid Society

(Albany, NY) The Commercial & Industrial Real Estate Brokers, Inc. (CIREB) has presented the Homeless and Travelers Aid Society (HATAS) a check in the amount of $3,000.00 to support the work of HATAS within the Capital Region. The presentation was made at CIREB's September 7th monthly marketing meeting.

The donation represents the proceeds from CIREB's annual golf outing which brings together leaders in the commercial real estate industry within the Capital Region. The event was held at the Schuyler Meadows Club.

HATAS is a point of entry human services agency that helps the poor, the homeless, and others in need lead independent, self-sufficient, and safe lives in the community. "HATAS was a perfect fit for CIREB as we were looking for an organization to support. Their work throughout the Capital Region is well known and widely respected," said CIREB President Mark L. Aronowitz. "We are proud to be part of their efforts to service their clientele."

Accepting the contribution Ira Mandelker, HATAS's executive director said, "We are thankful that the commercial REALTORS® recognize the efforts of HATAS and have chosen to support us with this very generous contribution. It is public support such as this which allows us to continue our service."
